Introduction to the characteristics and application fields of industrial parallel robots

    Industrial robot is a multi joint manipulator or multi degree of freedom machine device facing the industrial field. It can automatically perform work, and it is a machine that realizes various functions by its own power and control ability. It can be commanded by humans or run according to pre-arranged programs. Modern industrial robots can also act according to the principles and programs formulated by artificial intelligence technology.

    The main body is the base and the actuator, including the arm, wrist and hand. Some robots also have a walking mechanism. Most industrial robots have 3-6 degrees of freedom of motion, and the wrist usually has 1-3 degrees of freedom of motion; The drive system comprises a power device and a transmission mechanism, which are used to make the actuator produce corresponding actions; The control system sends command signals to the drive system and the actuator according to the input program and controls them.

    There are many kinds and complex forms of industrial parallel robot, mainly including four axis and six axis parallel structures, which are widely used in flight simulators, six dimensional force and torque sensors, parallel robot tools and other fields.

Industrial parallel robot’s characteristics are:

(1) compact structure, high stiffness and large bearing capacity;

(2) No accumulative error, high precision;

(3) Small space occupation;

(4) Fast speed and good sports performance;

(5) Small wear and long service life of components.

Application Fields of industrial parallel robot

    Industrial parallel robots are often used in situations where high stiffness, high accuracy, high speed and no large space are required. Specific applications include:

1. Sorting, handling and packing of food, medicine, electronics and chemical industries.

2. Simulate motion; For example, pilot 3D space training simulator; Engineering simulator, such as marine swing platform; Test the operation reliability of products under simulated repeated impact and vibration; Entertainment and sports simulator.

3. Parallel machine tool

4. Docking action; Such as space docking of spacecraft; Wheel installation on automobile assembly line; Prosthetic limb osteosynthesis in hospitals.

5. Load bearing movement; For example, high torque bolts are fastened; Short distance heavy load handling.

6. Metal cutting; It can be applied to all kinds of milling machines, grinding machines, drilling machines, spot welding machines and cutting machines.

7. It can be used for measuring machine and error compensator of other mechanisms

8. Micro manipulation robot; For micro mechanism or micro mechanism

9. Robot joint; It can be used as robot joint, crawling mechanism, food, medical packaging, transfer manipulator, etc

    With the development of various domestic industries in recent years, a large number of industrial parallel robot enterprises have emerged. Under the combined effect of the market and talents, domestic industrial parallel robots are also likely to catch up with and surpass foreign ones. In addition, China has many inherent advantages that foreign countries haven’t. The industry chain, price cost, technology update and market promotion are all encouraging the development of this industry.
