At the same time, the Implementation Plan defines ten key areas of robot application, namely manufacturing, agriculture, construction, energy, commerce and logistics in the field of economic development, medical health, elderly care services, education, commercial community services, safety emergency and extreme environmental applications in the field of social and livelihood.

The introduction of the Implementation Plan has pointed out the direction for the development of Chinese robot industry. Li Wenjuan, director of the Intelligent Equipment Research Office of the Industrial Policy Research Institute of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute, believes that the Implementation Plan focuses on product innovation and scene promotion, guides self-owned brand robots to grasp strategic opportunities, focuses on ten key areas of application, and promotes the high-quality development of Chinese robot industry with application as the traction.

Manufacturing is the first robot application field mentioned in the Implementation Plan. The Implementation Plan clearly points out that the development of new robot products such as welding, assembly, spraying, handling, grinding and polishing will accelerate the application and expansion of robotic production equipment to relevant fields. Develop specialized and customized solutions and software and hardware products, accumulate experience and knowledge such as model library, process software package, deeply integrate robot control software and integrated application system, and promote large-scale application in industries such as automobile, electronics, machinery, light industry, textile, building materials, medicine, etc., bathroom, ceramics, photovoltaic, smelting, casting, sheet metal, hardware, furniture and other sub-fields, spray glaze, trimming, polishing Grinding, welding, spraying, handling, stacking and other key links. Promote the construction of intelligent manufacturing demonstration plants and create typical application scenarios for industrial robots. In recent years, the development of industrial robots in China has been accelerating. According to the latest data released by the China Robotics Industry Alliance, in December 2022, the output of industrial robots of industrial enterprises above designated size in the country will reach 40000 sets. While the domestic market is booming, Chinese industrial robots are also accelerating the pace of "going to sea". According to the data released by the China Robot Industry Alliance, in December 2022, Chinese industrial robot equipment exports amounted to US $50 million, imports amounted to US $180 million, and trade deficit was US $130 million. From January to December 2022, Chinese industrial robot equipment exports totaled US $610 million, imports totaled US $2 billion and trade deficit totaled US $1.39 billion.

With the acceleration of digital development of the economy and society, especially the acceleration of digital transformation in all walks of life, industrial robots have become the core equipment for the development of intelligent manufacturing by major enterprises, and the density of manufacturing robots has increased rapidly. Statistics show that China has become the largest robot application market in the world for 9 consecutive years, and the consumption of industrial robots will account for more than 50% of the global total in 2021.

Industrial robots are being applied in more and more scenarios, from 25 industry categories and 52 industry categories ten years ago to more than 60 industry categories and 168 industry categories today.
