It does this by reducing the rotational clearance between gears. This can improve the accuracy when moving parts and reduce the error in the movement process. Types of joint reducers for industrial robots
RV reducer and harmonic reducer are two common reducers in articulated robots. For industrial robots with small load or multi axes at the end of large robots, harmonic reducer is a harmonic drive device. Harmonic reducer consists of rigid wheel, flexible wheel, bearing and wave generator. Among them, the number of teeth of rigid gear is slightly greater than that of flexible gear. The harmonic reducer for small robots has the characteristics of small size, light weight, large bearing capacity, high motion accuracy, and large single-stage transmission ratio.
RV reducer has the advantages of small size, strong impact resistance, large torque, high positioning accuracy, small vibration, large reduction ratio, etc. Therefore, it is mainly used in industrial robots, machine tools, medical and other fields. In addition, it is also applicable to detection equipment, satellite receiving systems and other fields.
RV reducer is suitable for medium and heavy load applications due to its strong impact resistance and high accuracy. The RV reducer needs to transmit large torque and bear large overload impact to ensure the expected service life. In the design, the relatively complex over positioning structure is adopted, which makes the manufacturing process and cost control difficult. There is no force component of elastic deformation inside the RV reducer, so it can bear a certain torque. The bearing of RV reducer is its weak point, which is easy to break through the bearing force limit, causing abnormal wear or fracture of the bearing. This problem is more prominent during high-speed operation, so the rated torque of RV reducer decreases significantly with the increase of input speed.
