Introduction: Transport robots are automated products that use robot motion trajectories to replace manual handling. They are industrial robots that can perform automated transport operations. The handling robot can install different end effectors to carry workpieces of different shapes and states, which greatly reduces the heavy physical labor of human beings.
The transport robot is a robotic arm in practical work, and the development of robotic arms is due to its positive role being increasingly recognized by people:
Firstly, it can partially replace manual operations;
Secondly, it can complete the transmission and loading and unloading of workpieces according to the requirements of the production process, following a certain program, time, and position;

Thirdly, it can operate necessary machines and tools for welding and assembly, greatly improving the labor conditions of workers, significantly increasing labor productivity, and accelerating the pace of achieving industrial production mechanization and automation.
The advantage of transportation robots is that they can complete various expected tasks through programming, and have the respective advantages of humans and machines in terms of their own structure and performance, especially reflecting artificial intelligence and adaptability. At present, the classification of handling robots mainly includes the following types:

1. Multi joint robot:
Multi joint robots have flexible movements, small motion inertia, strong versatility, and can grasp workpieces close to the machine base, and can work around obstacles between the body and the working machinery. With the needs of production, higher requirements are put forward for the flexibility, positioning accuracy, and working space of multi joint arms.
2. Hard arm assisted robot:
Hard arm assisted robots cannot use pneumatic balanced cranes or soft cable assisted robots when torque is generated, and must choose hard arm assisted robots. It can achieve a maximum lifting of 500Kg of workpiece, with a maximum radius of 3000mm and a maximum lifting height of 2500mm.

At present, there are over 100000 handling robots in use worldwide, widely used in machine tool loading and unloading, automated production lines for stamping machines, automatic assembly lines, stacking and handling, and automatic handling of containers. Some developed countries have established maximum limits for manual handling, and those exceeding these limits must be completed by handling robots.
