Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: The revenue of industrial robots exceeds 80 billion! To grasp industry, we must grasp talented person
On July 29, the 2022 National Industry Vocational Skills Competition: "National Industry and Information Technology Skills Competition" press conference was held in Beijing. The competition, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Education, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, aims to give full play to the advantages of industry, strengthen the leading role of new technologies and new skills, accelerate the training of a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talented person on a larger scale and more effectively, and provide a strong talent guarantee for the solid promotion of the construction of a manufacturing power and a network power.

At the press conference, Wang Hong, deputy director of the First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that Chinese robot industry has achieved rapid growth. In 2021, the output of industrial robots will reach 366,000, with a year-on-year increase of 67.9%; The revenue exceeded 80 billion yuan, up nearly 30% year on year. The use density of industrial robots continues to increase, reaching 246 per 10,000 workers in 2020, nearly twice the global average. The application field covers 52 industry categories and 143 industry categories in the national economy. Intelligent manufacturing with industrial robots as the core has become the main path for the digital transformation of manufacturing industry. In recent years, with the development of intelligent manufacturing in China, the country has also paid more and more attention to the cultivation of talented person in the field of "intelligent" manufacturing. Various colleges and universities have added professional courses such as robot engineering, artificial intelligence, electrical engineering and automation, big data technology, mechanical engineering, etc. It is worth mentioning that in the "Baidu Hot Search · 2022 College Entrance Examination Big Data" released by Baidu and China Education Online a few days ago, robotic-related majors occupy two seats in the list of popular majors. Of course, as China's population aging intensifies, it is also urgent for China to train high-quality technical and skilled personnel. In fact, China will usher in the largest retirement tide in history, with an average of 20 million people retiring every year, and the working-age population will continue to decline significantly, indicating that China will reduce the working-age population by 3-5 million every year. The employment crisis limited by manpower will sweep across the major economies of the world and have an irreversible impact on some industries and enterprises. The shortage of labor forces enterprises to face increasing pressure. In order to cope with the challenges of the aging population and the shrinking working-age population, people use emerging technologies to promote the growth of labor productivity. With the in-depth development of big data, automation, artificial intelligence and other technologies, the trend of enterprises using robots to fill the shortage of human resources is also increasingly obvious.
With the gradual popularization of industrial robots and other automation equipment, the repetitive work in the factory has been replaced by robots, and the number of ordinary workers has gradually decreased, but the demand for management and maintenance technicians of corresponding automation equipment has also increased sharply. Because even if the manufacturing process does not require the participation of workers, it also requires manual programming and maintenance of robots to ensure the operation of the entire production process.
According to the analysis report on the employment situation of industrial robot system operators issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, 67% of the employees are enterprises or companies that are introducing industrial robots or intelligent manufacturing production lines as production equipment. It can be seen that the job requirements of industrial robot system operators are increasing.
44.44% of industrial robot system operators have a college degree, 1.48% have a master's degree, and 45% have a college degree or below. The employment threshold of industrial robot system operators is low. Moreover, the report shows that 45% of industrial robot system operators are paid twice as much as the local average salary, and the industrial robot system operators are generally paid more than the local average salary. Machine replacement can cope with the problems of aging and difficult recruitment, but machine replacement is not without people, on the contrary, people are the most needed. As a typical intelligent manufacturing equipment, the operation, programming, debugging and maintenance of industrial robots have a certain threshold, and technical and skilled talented person who master these abilities are indispensable. China can also guide more enterprises and colleges to cultivate and select urgently needed talented person in key areas of manufacturing power and network power construction through post training and technical competition.
