It means that the density of industrial robots in China has surpassed that of the United States for the first time, ranking fifth in the world, followed by South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Germany and China. This is mainly because China has been applying industrial robots on a large scale in recent years. 268,000 industrial robots would be installed in 2021, which is about equal to the total of other regions in the world.

According to the data of the International Robotics Association, the density of industrial robots in the global manufacturing industry has risen to 141 units per 10,000 people, more than twice that of six years ago. Obviously, the growth rate of industrial robot applications in China is far beyond the average level.

To be specific, in other countries, South Korea has reached a new historical high of 1,000 industrial robots per 10,000 people, more than three times that of China, and has become the number one in the world, mainly relying on its internationally recognized advantages in the electronics and automotive industries.

Singapore ranks second, with 670 industrial robots per 10,000 people. It is worth noting that since 2016, its industrial robot density has increased by an average of 24% annually, making it the fastest growing country outside China.

Japan ranks third, with 399 industrial robots per 10,000 people, which is significantly lower than the first and second places; Germany ranked the fourth with 397 sets, the largest robot market in Europe.

The density of industrial robots in the United States is only 274, but it also means that there is still much room for growth. In particular, the problem of labor shortage caused by the epidemic is becoming more and more serious. At present, the speed of automation transformation is being accelerated.

Cost reduction and efficiency enhancement of industrial robots:

Industrial robots can effectively improve the production efficiency of enterprises, reduce the operating costs and production risks of enterprises, fill the gap of labor shortage, and improve the degree of standardization of the industry. At the same time, with the maturity of high-end chips, operating systems and other core technologies, the production capacity and reliability of industrial robots have been greatly improved, promoting the continuous application of industrial robots in countless scenarios.

The reason why enterprises introduce industrial robots is that they want to complete the automation transformation to improve production efficiency and control production costs. Recently, AI Media Consulting conducted a survey on the role of industrial robots in cost reduction and efficiency increase.

In terms of efficiency improvement, most enterprises have improved their production efficiency after the application of industrial robots, and 31.7% of them can improve the efficiency by more than 50%. Among them, the efficiency of mining and pharmaceutical industries has been greatly improved, followed by rubber, plastic and metal products industries, while the efficiency of furniture manufacturing, paper making and printing industries has been improved by less than 50%.

In terms of cost reduction, after the application of industrial robots, about 80% of enterprises can reduce production costs, only 7% of which will increase, and the rest will have no impact. Among them, about 53% of enterprises' costs decreased by less than 50%, and only a few enterprises' costs decreased by more than 50%. The cost of mining and furniture manufacturing industries decreased significantly, followed by pharmaceutical and food manufacturing industries.
