Four precautions and maintenance rules for spot welding robot maintenance:


     Spot welding robots have developed rapidly with the high welding accuracy. If you want to obtain higher benefits, you need to extend the service life of spot welding robots. There are four major issues to be paid attention to in maintenance, namely, cleaning, checking, adjustment and examine.

In the process of daily maintenance, prevention is the most important, which can not affect the normal operation of the welding robot and reduce the economic loss of the enterprise.


1. Cleaning

It refers to that the cleaning of the surface of the spot welding robot has been carried out on the axes of the robot and the welding gun. The cleaning is to prevent impurities from affecting the welding quality. If there are too many impurities in the welding gun, the welding materials will be brought to the surface of the weldment after passing through the welding gun, resulting in welding defects on the surface of the weldment, resulting in an increase in the cost of the enterprise. 


2. Checking

It is to check the operation of the robot. If the spot welding robot fails during the formal entry into the welding work, it is easy to prolong the production cycle and slow down the production process. If the screws are loose during the daily maintenance, it is necessary to tighten the screws in time to avoid injury accidents.


3. Adjustments

Update control system of the spot welding robot in time. To update the welding parameters to achieve stable welding. You need to regularly train the operators to improve the technical level.


4. Examine

Examine is required before welding. Batch production can be carried out only after the welding effect is perfect. Spot welding robots are widely used in various fields with the advantages of high production efficiency, low cost, good welding quality and high welding accuracy. Spot welding robots can be seen everywhere in many modern production workshops to help enterprises stabilize the welding quality.

Specific maintenance items can include the following aspects:

Daily inspection and maintenance

1) Wire feeding mechanism. Including whether the wire feeding force distance is normal, whether the wire feeding guide is damaged and whether there is abnormal alarm;

2) Whether the gas flow is normal;

3) Whether the safety protection system of the welding gun is normal (it is forbidden to close the safety protection work of the welding gun);

4) Whether the water circulation system works normally;

5) Test TCP (it is recommended to prepare a test program and run it after each shift handover);

Weekly inspection and maintenance

1) Scrub each axis of the robot;

2) Check the accuracy of TCP;

3) Check the residual oil level;

4) Check whether the zero position of each axis of the robot is accurate;

5) Clean the filter screen behind the water tank of the welding machine;

6) Clean the filter screen at the compressed air inlet;

7) Clean the impurities at the nozzle of the welding gun to avoid blocking the water circulation;

8) Clean the wire feeding mechanism, including wire feeding wheel, wire pressing wheel and wire guide pipe;

9) Check whether the hose bundle and guide wire hose are damaged or broken. (it is recommended to remove the whole hose bundle and clean it with compressed air);

10) Check whether the safety protection system of the welding gun is normal and whether the external emergency stop button is normal.

Monthly inspection and maintenance

1) Lubricate each axis of the robot;

2) Add grease to red grease nipples on RP positioner and RTS track;

3) Add gray conductive grease to the blue filler on the RP positioner;

4) Add lubricating oil (a small amount of butter) to the needle bearing of the wire feeding wheel;

5) Clean the gun cleaning device and fill the lubricating oil of the pneumatic motor (ordinary oil is enough);

6) Clean the control cabinet and welding machine with compressed air.;

7) Check the cooling water level of the water tank of the welding machine and replenish the cooling liquid in time (pure water can be added with a little industrial alcohol);
