The accuracy of the welding robot is affected by many factors, including the load of the manipulator, tool wear, the difficulty of welding work piece, etc. In addition to using high-precision measuring instruments, the accuracy can also be compensated by welding auxiliary equipment and welding control system. And with the continuous improvement and development of welding robot technology, the error required by welding robot for weldment is relatively small.
1. Preparation of special welding process
The special welding process for welding robot shall be prepared, and the part size, weld groove and assembly size shall be strictly regulated during programming. The dimensional tolerance of general parts and groove shall be controlled within ± 0.8mm, and the error of assembly dimension shall be controlled within ± 1.5mm. The probability of welding defects such as pores and undercuts in the weld can be greatly reduced.
2. Matching auxiliary equipment to ensure accuracy
Use assembly tooling with high accuracy to improve the assembly accuracy of weldments. The welding positioner can drag the weldment to the welding range of the welding gun, reduce the distance between the weld and the welding gun, and help the welding gun to place the right welding material to fill the weld, so as to ensure that the weld is beautiful and firm. The automatic seam tracking technology is that the control system can identify the weld specification, the control system can adjust the appropriate welding parameters, and the actuator can accurately weld the weld.

3. Load capacity of welding manipulator
The welding robot can realize stable welding in harsh environment, which is due to the load capacity of the welding machine. If the weight of the weldment is controlled within the load capacity of the welding robot arm, the welding robot arm can stabilize the welding quality while ensuring the flexibility, and the robot arm can also realize accurate welding during the swing process.
4. Keep the equipment clean
The weld shall be kept clean and free of oil, rust, welding slag, cutting slag and other sundries before welding. Weldable primer is allowed. Otherwise, the success rate of arc striking will be affected. The tack welding is changed from electrode welding to gas shielded welding. At the same time, the spot welding parts are polished to avoid the slag shell or air hole left by the tack welding, so as to avoid the instability of the arc and even the generation of spatter.
5. Multi-layer and multi-track welding
Multi-layer and multi-pass welding is to deposit more than two layers of weld to complete the welding of the whole weld. In this way, during the repeated operation, the heat input is small, which can reduce the incidence of welding defects and ensure the accuracy in the repeated activities.
