As a new product and new thing being vigorously promoted in China, industrial robots have some such concerns in the industry. On the other hand, industrial robot applications also bring lots of positions.
Rework/customized welder
Although robot automation is very accurate, it is sometimes necessary to ask an employee to check defects or repair parts. Similarly, some companies improve customer satisfaction and remain competitive by providing custom welding, which is usually done by master welders.
Mold Engineer
The extensive adaptation of automation may require employees who focus on the design and manufacture of special dies. Although the initial cost of such tools is often high, in the long run, if a knowledgeable engineer can help supervise the design phase, it may be more reasonable financially.
Programmer
It is very suitable for experienced welders, and this position can be specially used for programming new robot operations. This usually requires the use of offline robot simulation and programming software (such as MotoSim) to enable programmers to easily create, test and adjust robot programs or jobs before desktop computers are implemented in the factory floor. It is very important for a robot programmer to keep up with the latest manufacturing requirements (which may affect programming). He or she should be ready to help the robot (or work unit) design, assembly and maintenance as needed.
Robot technician
Companies with many robots may choose to retain internal maintenance experts who can build, wire, and test robot systems as needed to keep operations going smoothly. This will minimize the need for service contracts and visits to robot integrators or manufacturers.
Robot/work unit operator
Robots help the workforce in a variety of ways, thereby reducing the annoyance of workers performing tedious, dirty and dangerous tasks on a daily basis. The redeployment of manual workers to work such as loading and unloading parts, checking the quality of parts, or monitoring and reloading welding wires and other consumables will greatly help maintain a successful operation. These people also help jog and reset the robot in the event of a collision, saving time calling robot programmers.
Control Engineer
A person with a high degree of analytical ability is most suitable for this position and is responsible for ensuring that the best products are produced in the most effective way. This role is ideal for environments where a lot of automation has been introduced and every machine needs to communicate together.
Workshop Supervisor
The position is more complex. This work requires personnel who are fully responsible for the existing robot operation in the workshop to ensure the full utilization and success of all robots and work units, including implementation, maintenance, programming and operator training. In order to ensure the best return on investment, the person in this position should also be delegated to find new parts to automate.
Other positions
Although the created work list can continue, several other important positions include logistics manager, operation manager, sales manager or representative, product technician (depending on the product line), procurement manager or representative, and security manager.
Production automation and intellectualization are the inevitable way to improve production efficiency in the process of human development. In the short term, industrial robots will replace part of human work, but from beginning to end, robots were born to serve human beings, and they are the necessary equipment and technology for us to improve industrialization, production efficiency, and liberate productivity. In the short term, some types of human work will inevitably be eliminated. But in the long run, while machines replace people, more new jobs will also be created, so as to achieve better human-computer cooperation.
With the continuous use of automation equipment, the quality of industrial production for workers will also continue to improve. Only by constantly improving their own level can human beings adapt to the needs of the industrial era, otherwise they will be passively replaced by robots.
