Recently, CCTV reported data on the national manufacturing industry in the first half of this year. In the first half of this year, the added value of the national manufacturing industry increased by 4.2% year-on-year, 1.3 percentage points faster than the first quarter, and various fields passed the mid-term exam. Among them, multiple economic indicators of the automotive industry have reached historic highs, the three major indicators of the shipbuilding industry continue to lead the world, a number of important technological products have achieved breakthroughs, and the expectations for industrial development continue to improve.

The manufacturing industry is the mainstay of the national economy. Since the beginning of this year, with the effective measures to optimize and strengthen the real economy and promote industrial transformation and upgrading, China's manufacturing structure has been optimized, and the quality of development has steadily improved. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 3.8% year-on-year in the first half of the year, increased by 3% and 4.6% respectively in the first and second quarters, and increased by 2.4%, 3.0%, 3.6%, 3.6%, and 3.8% monthly, respectively. The growth continues to accelerate and shows a recovery trend.

Robots are known as the "jewel at the top of the manufacturing crown", and their research and development, manufacturing, and application are important indicators of a country's technological innovation and high-end manufacturing level. At the same time, they also inject strong momentum into promoting high-quality development of Chinese economy. With the steady recovery of the manufacturing industry, it has driven an increase in production capacity across the entire industry. Among them, production activities in industries such as automobiles, consumer electronics, lithium batteries, and photovoltaics are highly dependent on robots, and industrial robots are likely to be pulled back and become one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Although the production of industrial robots in June 2023 was 40000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 12%, there are clear signs of recovery in the main downstream application industries, and it is expected to release demand for industrial robots in the future. According to public data from relevant departments such as the China Automobile Association and the National Energy Administration, in the first half of 2023, the sales of new energy vehicles reached 3.747 million units, a year-on-year increase of 44.12%, showing a rebound trend; The cumulative installed capacity of power batteries is 152.1 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 38.1%; The cumulative new installed capacity of photovoltaics reached 78.42GW, a year-on-year increase of 153.95%; The cumulative new installed capacity of wind power reached 22.99GW, a year-on-year increase of 77.67%.

In recent months, national and local governments have not only introduced a series of guiding policies for the robot industry, but also provided a large amount of convenience for its upstream and downstream industries. On July 21st, the National Development and Reform Commission held a special press conference on promoting the consumption of automobiles and electronic products. At the conference, two policy plans for the automotive industry and the 3C electronic industry were introduced, namely "Several Measures for Promoting Automobile Consumption" and "Several Measures for Promoting Electronic Product Consumption".

Chang Tiewei, Deputy Director of the Employment Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, Huo Fupeng, Deputy Director of the Industry Department, Song Changqing, Second level Inspector of the Environment and Resources Department, and Li Chao, Deputy Director of the Economic and Trade Department, attended the press conference. Vice Director Chang Tiewei introduced the promotion of automobiles Regarding the consumption of electronic products: "In the second half of the year, in order to maintain the momentum of economic recovery, prosper production, promote employment, and achieve the annual economic and social development goals, it is necessary to further promote consumption, enhance vitality, stimulate market potential, and better play the fundamental role of consumption in economic development.

It is not difficult to find in several securities firms' research reports that with the release and landing of downstream demand, industrial robots are expected to hit the bottom and rebound, and "localization" has also become a focus of attention. According to MIR data, it is expected that the localization rate of industrial robots in China will reach 37% by 2023. With policy support, technological progress, and accumulation of application experience, core component leading enterprises have obvious growth space in the future under the trend of domestic independent control and industrial chain security.
